Concrete in Spring Hill, a town that grew by a third in five years
Spring Hill went from under 8,000 people to nearly 11,000 between 2020 and 2025. The new subdivisions need patios, pads and widening; the old town needs the repairs every older street in the county needs.
Spring Hill had 7,964 people in April 2020 and 10,777 by July 2025, a 35 percent jump that makes it the fastest-growing city in Johnson County. More than three-quarters of its homes are owner-occupied, at a median value of $357,800, and most of the new ones are in subdivisions along 199th and 207th Streets, Woodland Road and Ridgeview, on the Johnson County side and across the line into Miami County. Those homes came with a builder's driveway and not much else, so the concrete people call us about is the patio, the fire-pit pad, the trailer pad beside the garage, the walk to the shed, and the widening for the pickup.
The old town along Main Street and the streets around it has the other half of the work: 1970s driveways on clay, walks tipped at the joints, stoops that have pulled away from the house. Spring Hill's lots run larger than Olathe's, and more of them are on septic and well, so we locate the lines before anything is dug and keep slabs off the lateral field. Approaches and public sidewalks are city right-of-way under Spring Hill's permit; the newer subdivisions have HOAs with rules about trailers and campers, and we send the committee its drawing first.

Questions from Spring Hill homeowners
Do you work on the Miami County side of Spring Hill?
Yes. The city line and the county line don't match, and we cover both sides.
We're on septic. Does that matter for a patio or a pad?
It does. We locate the tank and the lateral field before we lay anything out, and we keep slabs and equipment off the laterals.
Can you widen a driveway that the builder just poured?
Yes. We tie into it with a proper joint, match the finish, and build the widening on a compacted base so it doesn't settle away from the original.
Who approves a trailer pad?
The city's rules and your HOA's. We check both and send the HOA its drawing before we schedule.
